Carissa V. Douglas is the founder of TruNorth Legal P.C., where she advises businesses and individuals navigating complex legal disputes, strategic decisions, and high-conflict matters.

With more than two decades of litigation experience, Carissa is known for bringing clear analysis, practical judgment, and strategic focus to difficult legal situations. Her background includes sophisticated commercial litigation involving partnership disputes, business torts, fraud, civil theft, and other high-stakes matters, as well as extensive experience helping clients prepare for hearings, evaluate risk, and navigate challenging transitions.

Carissa founded TruNorth Legal with the belief that experienced legal guidance should be more accessible, practical, and strategically focused. Frustrated by how expensive and difficult legal services have become for many people, she developed a model centered on clear communication, flat-fee strategy sessions, and focused legal representation designed to help clients better understand their options and move forward with confidence.

Prior to founding TruNorth Legal P.C., Carissa practiced with Greenberg Traurig LLP in New York and Allen Vellone Wolf Helfrich & Factor P.C. in Colorado. She also served in judicial roles with the Colorado Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.

Admitted to the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, Carissa earned her J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law, where she served as Managing Editor of the Law Review.
